Each day\, our organization must collect over 12\,500 units across the country to meet the patient blood needs of the hospitals we serve. \; Here in our Northwest Chapter area\, Red Cross collects over 45\,000 units of blood each year\, hosting 4-8 blood drives daily. \; Red Cross works with local hospitals to meet the transfusion needs\, and we are recovering from a concerning shortfall in donations this summer.

\n\nDonors are critically needed right now after a sharp decrease in donations since late spring. \; Full summer calendars and holiday plans may prevent regular donors from being able to give. \; While many are out on vacation during July\, we are asking you and other prospective donors to come and help save a life. \; Will you please make a very real difference\, be a force of nature and sign up to give?
